BERKLEY, Massachusetts (WLNE) – A stomach-turning performance caught on video in Berkeley on Wednesday.
A woman was observed getting out of a car on South Main Street and doing her business behind a local farm stand.
“I logged into my camera and saw a woman walking toward my gate,” said Dallas Brightman. “I saw her crouch down and go to the bathroom.”
Brightman, the owner of Hill and Hollow Farm Stand, said the incident disturbed him.
“I mean, it’s a farm stand,” Brightman said. “There’s a lot going on here, people buying vegetables, nobody wants to see that.”
Brightman added that while this incident was particularly egregious, such an act was not unknown in the area.
“Other people have complained to me about others stopping and going to the bathroom right in their front yard without caring about what they are doing,” he said.
The cleanup process only made the problem worse.
“I don’t want to touch that,” Brightman said. “Who wants to touch that? What am I supposed to do? Hire someone to clean up someone’s poop behind the farm stand? That’s disgusting.”
He added that there are much better alternatives for those who have to “leave.”
“Just ask us, there are forests everywhere,” Brightman said. “If you need to go to the bathroom, you need to go to the bathroom. There’s a Dunkin’ Donuts on every corner in Massachusetts.”
Berkeley police said they had identified the perpetrator and filed charges against him.
Officers thanked the public for their help in this case, but asked that in the future they refrain from sharing potentially criminal videos on social media before contacting police.
Police did not identify the person arrested.
