Adele’s new stay in Germany Adele in Munich continues to be one of the most entertaining concert experiences of the year. In just five performances, 36-year-old Adele has already created several viral moments on stage.
Although the “Set Fire To The Rain” singer managed to keep her show going despite torrential rain on Wednesday, August 14, an incident occurred on stage during the concert.
Adele had to change her shoes from high heels to sneakers to be safe in the rain. However, while wearing them, a wardrobe malfunction occurred as the laces came undone. Adele called for someone to help her retie her shoes, but ended up doing it herself because the extra help took too long.
She bent down to re-tie her shoelaces while twerking in front of the 80,000-strong crowd. Her fiancé Rich Paul supported Adele from afar, posting on X (formerly Twitter) in apparent response to the incident: “The show must go on!”
Meanwhile, Adele tried to take the focus off her shoes. When she noticed herself on the giant screen, she told the cameraman, “Take your camera away from my sneakers.” She also apparently heard someone in the audience say, “Nice shoes,” to which she replied, “Who just said ‘Nice shoes’? Stop making fun of me.”
Adele in Munich has been a memorable show so far. Last week, she confirmed that she and Paul are engaged after a viewer humorously proposed marriage. “I’m already getting married,” she quipped in response.
Although rain is never ideal during an outdoor concert, it seems as though the downpour occurred at an opportune time during her setlist. In fan-filmed videos, Adele performs her hit single “Set Fire To The Rain” as well as “Skyfall,” the theme song from the 2012 James Bond film. Skyfall.
Adele in Munich will continue to run for two performances weekly before closing on Saturday, August 31st.
