St. George, Utah (August 15, 2024) – Recently named the number one public golf course in Utah and one of the best resort courses in the U.S., Black Desert Resort offers the first-class experience and amenities one would normally expect from a private club, all with the accessibility of a daily fee course.
Golfers can now reserve tee times up to 60 days in advance at www.blackdesertresort.com, with priority access given to property owners and resort guests. Beginning October 16, Black Desert Resort will open its doors to resort guests for a special “preview period.” This time provides a unique opportunity to provide feedback and actively participate in shaping the future of Black Desert Resort before it officially opens in early 2025. During the preview period, guests will have access to a carefully selected range of amenities and services, including limited dining options, recreational facilities and the spectacular golf course, all set against the stunning backdrop of southern Utah’s red rock landscapes.
Guests can also book the highly anticipated Golf Stay and Play packages, now bookable up to one year in advance. Offered at 10-15% off the best available rates, these exclusive packages include two nights’ accommodation in premium accommodation, green fees for two, cart fees, complimentary range balls, food and soft drinks during your round, a fore caddy and a personalized tee-off gift. Additionally, guests can enjoy same-day replays for just $175.
Group golf trips can also be booked for groups of 12 or more. A minimum stay of two nights is required. Bookings can be made up to one year in advance.
“Experiencing a round at Black Desert Resort feels like playing on a private course, and yet we pride ourselves on being a resort that is open to all,” said Patrick Manning, Managing Partner of Black Desert Resort. “The enthusiastic response to our golf course since its opening just over a year ago reflects our commitment to excellence. The stunning black lava that frames our fairways, along with the breathtaking red rock backdrop, create an extraordinary atmosphere and we strive to make the entire resort experience equally unforgettable.”
Set against the spectacular backdrop of Greater Zion, the 7,400-yard, par-72 Black Desert Golf Course was designed by Phil Smith and the late Tom Weiskopf – the final design by the 2024 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee. Designed for all skill levels, the course features forgiving fairways and strategically placed landing zones ranging from 70 to 100 yards wide. Beginners will enjoy playing here, while experienced players will encounter many risk-and-reward challenges on the back tees. GPS-equipped carts provide hole-by-hole commentary from Weiskopf. The state-of-the-art practice area includes TRACKMAN technology, and the expansive 8,000-square-foot, 36-hole putting green is the perfect place to hone your swing before a round or enjoy a fun barefoot putting contest with friends over evening refreshments.
Since its opening in May 2023, the golf course at Black Desert Resort has received rave reviews among golfers and has been honored with a number of prestigious awards and honors:
