PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball receives official visit from Utah Prep’s AJ Dybantsa.

Dybantsa, the country’s top recruit for the class of 2025, put on an MVP performance in China last week and told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi when he will make official visits to schools.

AJ Dybantsa: Official Visit Schedule

Dybantsa will officially visit from October 11-13, which coincides with the BYU football team’s home game against the Arizona Wildcats on October 12.

In addition to BYU, Dybantsa will take official visits to Kansas State (August 30-September 1), Kansas (September 6-8), North Carolina (September 20-22), Alabama (September 27-29), Baylor (October 4-6) and then BYU.

During this recruiting cycle, a new rule allows recruits to make as many official visits as possible. Previously, the number of official visits per recruit was limited to five.

During official visits, the university covers the travel expenses of the recruit and his family.

Dybantsa had already paid an unofficial visit to BYU in June.

The early signing deadline for the 2025 recruiting class is in November, but Dybantsa told KSL Sports in June that he was targeting February as the date he would commit to a school.

Many see Dybantsa as the first pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

JJ Mandaquit will make an official visit the same weekend

Dybantsa won’t be the only Utah Prep star visiting BYU during the Arizona game. Four-star guard JJ Mandaquit will also take an official visit to BYU that same weekend. SB Nation’s Robby McCombs first reported Mandaquit’s planned visit, which KSL Sports has since confirmed.

Mandaquit is the 53rd best junior player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite ratings. He is the eighth best point guard in the country.

Dybantsa and Mandaquit’s relationship began when they were roommates on the U.S. U17 team at the World Championships in Turkey.

“Very close,” Dybantsa told KSL Sports earlier this month of his relationship with Mandaquit. “We were roommates on Team USA, so we built a bond early on. We laugh a lot and do a lot, but when things get serious, we’re tight. But I think that chemistry carries over onto the court.”
