2024 marks the 90th anniversary of Fujifilm, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of imaging products, be it photography, printers, film cameras or medical devices. A few years ago, the Japanese company introduced a premium product for its Instax range, the Mini Evo. To mark the anniversary, the brand has now introduced two special editions of the camera.
The death and rise of instant photography
Compared to 2024, instant gratification was more of a luxury in the ’70s and ’80s when instant cameras first became popular. That’s why it was even stranger at the start of the new millennium that these Polaroid-like devices seemed to be disappearing in favor of digital cameras. Things seemed to have evened out a bit, and brands like Fujifilm and Polaroid have found clear markets for their instant products.
Fujifilm in particular has found a nice niche with its Instax range, which now includes hybrid models like the Square and Mini Evo that function as digital cameras but have a printing function so you can use your freshly taken photo in a variety of ways.
Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo 90th Anniversary Basics
The 90s models can be recognized by the new Dark Silver and Titanium Gold skins. When you purchase the camera, you will receive a bundle with a camera bag, matching lens cap and shoulder strap.
Aside from the color variants, everything is business as usual. This includes impressive features like improved exposure, top-notch print quality, a ⅕-inch CMOS sensor, ten different lens options with ten customizable filters, and a 3-inch LCD screen.
