Similar addresses cause a lot of trouble both for the post office and for the people who live at these addresses.

What began as a friendly agreement between neighbors turned into a dilemma when a misunderstanding over property boundaries escalated.

Read on to find out what happened next!

I live at 123 N. Main Street. My neighbor lives a few doors down at 123 S. Main Street.

We often receive packages from each other and then it happens several times.

I left my phone number on a piece of paper with the house owner so that we could contact each other more quickly in an emergency. Four years pass in which we inform each other about lost packages.

In the last year or so, the other house got what looks like some sort of tattoo machine.

I text her to tell her that the package was delivered to me incorrectly. No response. I text again. No response.

I drive it to her house and park it.

Then her neighbor offers to help her in another way.

A few months go by and I find a handwritten note on my porch that says, “I should be nicer to people instead of telling them to get off my property,” with her address at the bottom as the return address.

Apparently she is moving and has offered the house for rent.

In any case, it was the first time I became aware that a few months earlier someone had walked on my private sidewalk that goes around my house (and runs parallel to the street).

She describes the furnishings of her home.

The private walkway is about three feet away from the huge glass windows in my living room, and when someone does that, it’s creepy and weird.

I could literally touch a stranger on my property if it weren’t for the glass of the very large windows.

Second, my house is about three feet above street level, so if someone is walking on the street, they are several feet below the level of my house, and of course horizontally more like 8-10 feet away because there is a small strip of land between the street and my house.

Now to the incident.

Anyway, this woman was walking on my private sidewalk on my private property about a foot from my windows, which I found creepy.

You have to walk all the way up my driveway to even get there.

I go outside and explain that this is private property.

It is my home; on a single-family lot, of course it is private.

She kept saying, “Oh, what do you mean?” and acting all sweet.

I’m a woman, so this nonsense was out of the question for me.

Anyway, I asked her not to enter my property. But apparently this was the same woman who had the address near me.

Karma had its sights set on the intruding neighbor.

After receiving her handwritten note telling me to be nicer to people who enter my property, within a few weeks another package was misdelivered and I am now the proud owner of several beauty items.

Thanks!

This time, the parcel delivery person’s confusion seems to have worked to her advantage.

What did Reddit have to say?

This Redditor’s son was able to intercept a misplaced delivery before it was too late!

In other industries, too, mishaps involving incorrect addresses occur again and again.

If her neighbor had been nicer, she would have her beauty products by now!

That’s what she gets for trespassing on her property.
