A woman who said her face was mauled by a dog while on holiday at a campsite in Norfolk described it as “the most horrific moment of my life”.
Anne-Marie Daniels, 46, said she was attacked by two dogs at the Cherry Tree Holiday Park in Burgh Castle, near Great Yarmouth.
The mother of two from Cambridge said she had flashbacks in which she saw one of the dogs lying on top of her.
A spokesman for the park, operated by Parkdean Resorts, said the safety of its guests was of utmost importance.
“The most terrible moment of my life”
Mrs Daniels lived there with her parents and two sons. She said she was walking to her trailer with her seven-year-old when two dogs “attacked” her son.
When she tried to stop them, they turned to her and began “mauling her face,” she said.
“I tried to kick them away and protect my face, but they managed to get through my leather jacket and bit me,” she said.
She said dogs should be kept on a leash in campsites, but added: “There is not a single sign saying ‘keep your dog on a leash.'”
Norfolk Police confirmed they were called to the scene on the evening of August 7 following a report of an out-of-control dog.
Cherry Tree Holiday Park describes itself as dog friendly, but the rules state that guests must keep their pets on a lead at all times.
The spokesman said there was a “zero tolerance policy” and the dogs were removed the following day.
“Security staff worked with local police and paramedics who confirmed on site that they were confident that Anne and all other guests were OK,” they added.
Police said a woman and a child suffered superficial injuries that did not require hospital treatment.
