2 minutes, 47 seconds Read

The summer months were arguably as important for TV as they were for movies, and with the fall season upon us, there aren’t as many high-profile titles as we’re used to. Still, there were at least four titles that stood out from the rest… and one that just barely made it to the bottom of the 5 most anticipated TV and streaming shows of September.

Slow Horses: Season 4
(2024)

Premiere date: September 4, 2024 on Apple TV+

Slow horses has been something of a critically acclaimed surprise hit for Apple TV+ since it first aired in 2022, so it makes sense that it’s at the top of this list. Led by the always reliable Gary Oldman and based on a series of spy novels, the series focuses on a splinter group of MI5 reserved for agents who are considered failures but who nevertheless become embroiled in major espionage plots. The six-episode season will premiere with two episodes on September 4, with new episodes airing weekly.

No. 3

Tulsa King: Season 2

Premiere date: September 15, 2024 on Paramount+

Sylvester Stallone can still draw an audience at the ripe old age of 78 as he stars in this Paramount+ series as a mafia lieutenant who builds a criminal gang in Tulsa, OK. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the show was created by Taylor Sheridan, the man behind titles like Wind River, YellowstoneAnd Mayor of KingstownWe hope that the second season can live up to the “Certified Fresh” status of the first.

No. 4

From: Season 3
(2024)

Premiere date: September 22, 2024 on MGM+

If you are looking for something with even more niche appeal, Out of might be just the thing for you. This sci-fi horror series on MGM+ has quietly amassed two very “Fresh and Hot” seasons so far, and chronicles the lives of the residents of a mysterious city that imprisons all who enter it. Oh, and of course, there are the nightmarish creatures that come out at night to terrorize everyone.

No. 5

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol
(2024)

Premiere date: September 29, 2024 on AMC and AMC+

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon The premiere was received quite positively, and although fans hoped to see Melissa McBride’s Carol alongside Norman Reedus’ title character, she didn’t appear until the season finale. The second season – with subtitles The book Carol – seems to give fans what they’ve been waiting for, and there were enough fans to vote the show into our top 5 this month.
