LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Raiders have signed DT Jonah Laulu via waivers from the Indianapolis Colts and S Thomas Harper via waivers from the Los Angeles Chargers, the club announced Wednesday.

Laulu, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive tackle, was originally selected by the Colts in the seventh round (234th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft before being omitted from the final roster cuts.

Laulu spent four seasons at the University of Hawai’i (2018-21) before transferring to Oklahoma University, where he played his final two seasons (2022-23). ​​During his college career, he appeared in 66 games (24 starts) and totaled 102 tackles (52 solo), 27.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, one interception, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

A native of Las Vegas, Laulu attended Centennial High School, where he played on both sides of the ball and earned All-Conference honors his senior year.

Harper, a 5-foot-10, 195-pound cornerback, originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Chargers before being released during the last roster cut.

Harper played four seasons at Oklahoma State University (2019-22) before transferring to Notre Dame for his final collegiate season. In 2023, as a member of the Fighting Irish, Harper played in 11 games (10 starts) and recorded 39 tackles (25 solo), six tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, three passes defensed, one quarterback hit and one forced fumble.

The Knoxville, Tennessee native played safety and cornerback during his time at Notre Dame and earned the sixth-best tackling grade (88.9) among cornerbacks in the nation in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus.

In a related transaction, the Raiders waived DT Byron Young and CB MJ Devonshire and placed CB Brandon Facyson on the reserve/injured list.
