In New South Wales, Selwyn Snow Resort closed last weekend, although the resort stressed it hoped to reopen as soon as conditions permit.
It is the lowest level resort in Kosciuszko National Park.
“With the little snow we have, it’s just not worth it for guests to come here at the moment,” says Abi Spackman, deputy manager of Selwyn Snow Resort.
“We are just so grateful to have been able to stay open this long, and hopefully we can stay open a little longer.”
Perisher’s Smiggin Holes and Guthega will also close their slopes this weekend as the ski resort says it is not safe to operate due to low snow cover.
There are some concerns about the long-term future of skiing and snowboarding in Australia.
