The big winners of the White Marlin Open 2024
The expanded 51st White Marlin Open announced its big winners: two white marlin took first and second place and a tuna took third place.
Ocean City, Maryland, was named the best fishing town in the state of Maryland, according to a study conducted by FishingBooker.com in July.
FishingBooker set out to find the best fishing spots in every U.S. state and concluded that Ocean City in Worcester County is the best place in Maryland for anglers. The study was based on Fishing Booker’s internal data from over 100,000 fishing trips and the criteria for the study were:
- Number of fishing trips available
- Average rating
- Average recommended score
- Number of guides with the Angler’s Choice Award (FishingBookers award for the best guides on the platform)
- Number of bookings
- Minimum price for a fishing trip
Given its location and its status as a host to major year-round fishing tournaments, including the famous annual White Marlin Open, it’s no surprise that Ocean City, Maryland is one of the best fishing towns in the United States.
Two other Worcester County cities, Snow Hill and Berlin, also landed in the top 10 in the website’s Maryland rankings, coming in at number 5 and 6, respectively.
