This beauty test is about one of those golden oldies, a skin care product that seems to have been around forever but has proven itself.
Yes, there is always room for lots of new things in our makeup bag, but everyone has a favorite piece that they just can’t give up.
That’s how I feel about this skin-enhancing beauty purchase that comes into its own in the fall when everything (days, weather, my complexion) looks a bit grey and gloomy. It’s a super easy-to-use skincare product and uses natural extracts to bring your skin back to glow. That’s worth a beauty review, right?
Papaya & Pineapple Facial Scrub
The skincare product is from Elemis and features the Papaya Enzyme Peel, which also contains pineapple extract. The fruit extracts give the peel a tropical scent and make it lovely to use. But why are they in it, you may ask.
Well, like milk, sugar and apples, fruits like papaya and pineapple are natural exfoliators with acids that help remove dead skin cells and they are wonderfully natural to use on the skin, unlike anything synthetic. They are also great for mature skin to boost glow without having to scrub or use anything abrasive, so they deserve a beauty review.
Procedure
If exfoliation has slipped far down your beauty priority list during the summer, this scrub will eliminate all that negligence in a single session.
Simply apply a layer of the scrub to the face, excluding the eye area. Apply a little to the neck and décolleté if you want to brighten and soften them after summer sun exposure. Leave for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with warm water and pat dry. This can be repeated every week if you want to glow all season long.
Beauty Review
As I said, this isn’t a beauty review of something new, but more of a tribute to a classic, a cult skincare product that always delivers on its promises and happens to be almost €10 cheaper at Boots. What I love about this lightweight face scrub is how easy it is to use: you put it on and it does its job. As well as papaya and pineapple, the scrub contains two types of marine extracts to soften and nourish the skin, milk proteins for extra exfoliation, niacinamide to balance the skin and sunflower oil to keep it comfortable.
As for this beauty review, the facial scrub is a quick buy in my makeup bag. The tube contains enough doses to last even in the darker months and it’s no problem to use it on weekends when I spend a little more time on my skincare routine. It normally costs €48 but right now it’s reduced by €9.60 and costs €38.40.
