Fort Carson’s 4ID hosts a community engagement day at Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site

The 4th Infantry Division welcomes the public to a Citizen Participation Day on August 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pinon Canyon Training Area.

Participants will have the opportunity to interact with Soldiers from the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, and learn more about the military vehicles they operate and the ongoing training at the training range.

Colonel Erik Oksenvaag, Fort Carson Garrison Commander, will deliver the opening remarks. In addition, Colonel Anthony Keller, Commander of the 1st SBCT, will provide a brief training briefing and explain the unique training environment at PCMS.

The 1st SBCT will conduct training at PCMS from August 20 to September 5 in support of the 4th Infantry Division’s training exercise Lethal Ivy.

Lethal Ivy is a training opportunity for members of the 4th Infantry Division to conduct a distributed exercise with real subordinate brigades and simulations to plan, prepare, execute, and evaluate actions in a large-scale combat operation scenario.
