The LahainaTown Action Committee, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, will host its next Kōkua for Maui Shop Local and Show Aloha event on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. This special event brings the community and visitors together to support Lahaina’s resilient local businesses.
“Kōkua for Maui is about more than just shopping – it’s about coming together as a community and showing our support for local businesses that are the heart and soul of West Maui,” said Sne Patel, president of the LahainaTown Action Committee. “We encourage everyone to join us for a fun day in Kāʻanapali while helping our beloved businesses thrive.”
Tambara Garrick, treasurer of the LAC board and one of the event organizers, said, “This event is a testament to the resilience and strength of our community. By shopping local, you not only support small businesses, but you also help preserve the unique character and spirit of Lahaina.”
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free. Valet parking is available for $20 and self-parking is $1 per 3 hours at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.
