The Late Show with Stephen Colbert shared a TikTok video of all their top guests from last week’s Democratic National Convention on Sunday, and the video is being criticized as “embarrassing.”
“What did I just see?” asked conservative influencer Chaya Raichik on her “Libs of TikTok” account.
The social media video features former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Laura Benanti, an impersonator of former First Lady Melania Trump, in a montage of their fists drumming to the beat of the iconic song “We Will Rock You” by the band Queen.
“Pure distilled nuclear cringe,” national security expert Jim Hanson wrote on his X-account.
“An overdose of embarrassment,” wrote another person on X.
“Is this supposed to make us forget about inflation?” asked one social media user.
“I love the political positions expressed in this video. These politicians are so astute,” another social media user joked about Colbert’s TikTok post.
Meanwhile, some of Colbert’s fans cheered the video.
“This week’s shows have brought me SO MUCH JOY!!!!” said one fan under Meta’s Facebook post of the video.
“It’s so nice to see Hillary getting the love she’s deserved for so long,” someone wrote on Facebook.
Colbert’s show was broadcast live from Chicago for four evenings, each following the program of the Democratic Party Convention.
The show also released another montage of special guests celebrating last week’s “Femininomenon.”
Colbert’s guests alternated between celebrating the Democratic presidential nomination and poking fun at their Republican rivals.
“Living in a Midwestern state is not the same as living Midwestern values,” Buttigieg told Colbert during a broadcast as he sharply criticized Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH).
The transportation secretary added: “When I think of Midwestern values, I think of humility, decency, honesty, and the Trump-Vance campaign is almost the opposite of all of those things.”
Speaking to Colbert in Chicago, Ocasio-Cortez commented on Walz’s masculinity.

“I think the Trump-Vance list thinks they have a monopoly on masculinity. And Walz somehow comes up – he’s a football coach. As a football coach, he was the head of the Gay-Straight Alliance. And he says, that’s actually funny,” the “Squad” member told Colbert. “He shows a different way of being a standing man in America.”
Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton raved about how “electrifying” the DNC audience was on the first night and admitted it was “shocking” that President Joe Biden had abandoned his candidacy for president.
