Furry companions can drive people crazy and melt them to the ground with their cute antics. But over the years, they’ve upset people in Zoom meetings and TV viewers quite a bit, having interrupted meetings and newscasts during the grim days of the pandemic. Although most people would be embarrassed or confused if a dog or cat walked in while they were live or on a call, Dallas-Fort Worth meteorologist Evan Andrews (@EvanAndrewsFox4) shows off his furry friends on air. As a result, his pets have gained more popularity than he has with their cute cameo appearances during his live weather reports.

In 2020, people shared some adorable pictures of Andrews’ dog sleeping on a tiny sofa behind him while he was live-reporting from his home. Likewise, a Reddit user posted a snap of the pooch taking a peaceful nap and the comments section went crazy. “The weather dog had a tiny dog sofa,” the user captioned the post. “It was the best thing I’ve seen on TV,” someone added in one of the comments.

The Reddit post garnered a lot of attention, with people showering the furry dog with love and admiration. “That’s one smart weatherman. I would tune in just to see that dog again,” u/SugarFreeChurro said. “I’m sure he put him there on purpose for the whole world to see! That warms my heart,” u/sped_sond_sunic noted. “Oh my god, how cute is that pup? He has his own little couch and bone pillow. So cute,” u/Rosegarden24 added.

Andrews is known for often showing off his furry friends online and on camera. His workdays during the COVID-19 pandemic have been filled with cameos from their dogs and cats, who became part of his workday. “My morning WFH crew,” Andrews shared on X, along with an adorable picture of his pooches playing around their famous “couch.” Around the same time, he also showed off his turtle, Frederick, on camera while reporting live. “Best part about WFH? Sharing the family farm! Frederick is a hit!” he wrote in the caption with a snap of him holding his turtle.

His dachshund Penny, who slept on the sofa while her dad busily did a weather report, melted people’s hearts. John Jeffries – who goes by @Jeffries6306 on X – couldn’t help but share Penny’s sweet nap on the platform. “Evan, your dog has the life I want!” Jeffries captioned the post. Fox 4 Vice President Robin Whitmeyer (@tvbossy) also joined Penny’s admirers. She loved how Andrews’ two dogs shared a sofa during one of his reports, writing in her post: “Penny shares her ‘tiny’ sofa. Furry friends. She watches daddy do the weather report.”

Much like Andrew, meteorologist Anthony Farnell – the weatherman for Global News Toronto – was interrupted in a cute way. He was in the middle of reporting the weather when his miniature goldendoodle Storm peeked into the frame to get a treat. “Yeah, Storm is in the building getting some treats and taking to the skies,” Farnell joked, poking fun at his hungry pet, and the internet loved it.
