We’ve seen it on the court and in his personal sense of style; LaMelo Ball is truly one of a kind. By translating his totally unique flair into his signature shoes, his line has also been able to stand out from the competition and make a name for itself with avant-garde constructions and colorways since 2021. The next step is finally about to be released, as he and PUMA Hoops have just officially unveiled his PUMA MB.04.
As seen from the first look at the shoe, the Y2K-era graphics are the real eye-catcher on a base of engineered mesh. TPU overlays contain a variety of his personal iconography; his phoenix logo appears on the forefoot, his “1 of one” mantra creeps through the eyestays to the quarter and “RARE” is embossed just below the laces. All of this together makes for a truly captivating first impression that, according to PUMA, reflects the “idea of symbiosis (…) wrapped in all of Melo’s attributes and rarities.”
Of course, PUMA’s best basketball shoes don’t skimp on performance. EVA foam in the midsole provides energy return and cushioning, while TPU paneling on the forefoot provides stability during your and LaMelo’s most difficult moves on the court.
To further highlight the baby blue colorway of the PUMA MB.04, the German giant is bringing an identical look to the PUMA LaFrance 1:1, Ball’s lifestyle shoe that was unveiled a few months ago. To celebrate the launch of its new trademark, Puma will embark on its Melo tour of North America, starting in Charlotte on August 26th, hitting Atlanta on the 28th, Miami on the 29th and concluding with a performance in NYC on the 30th.
Both the PUMA MB.04 and LaFrance 1:1 will release on September 12th along with a collection of matching apparel. All items will be available through PUMA.com, the PUMA app and select retailers such as Champs & Foot Locker.
