Scouting report: Peter Thomas Roth’s cucumber gel mask relieves redness caused by all kinds of irritation. It has a calming, cooling effect and is simply fun to apply.
I admit that I usually find face masks pretty pointless for skincare. While some may provide a glow or a hydration boost for a day or so, I rarely find a mask that has a lasting, meaningful effect on my skin; but every now and then I’ll try a hydrating face mask in the hope that it will change my mind about the everyday product.
At first glance, Peter Thomas Roth’s Cucumber Gel Mask looks like an overpriced serving of aloe vera, but after using it for a few weeks now, I’ve become an advocate of what I like to call the miraculous green slime.
The combination of natural ingredients, including cucumber, papaya, chamomile and aloe vera, works to deeply moisturize, so you will feel the difference almost immediately after using the product.
Although the mask can only be used on days when you have extremely sensitive skin, it is best to use it every other day to achieve the most visible and effective results. I recommend taking a quarter-sized amount, spreading it on your face and neck and leaving it on for about ten to fifteen minutes before washing the gel off with cold water.
While I haven’t tried Peter Thomas Roth’s other masks, the company also offers a selection of other well-reviewed masks, including the insanely popular 24K Gold Mask and the exfoliating Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. However, if you need a serious hydration boost ASAP, the Cucumber Gel Mask is your solution.
