Big Sky, Montana, August 26, 2024 – Beginning with the 2024-25 season, all Big Sky Resort lift tickets will include access to the legendary Lone Peak Tram. The change comes after tram access was decoupled from lift tickets and select season passes for the 2021-22 season to keep wait times under 30 minutes on average and preserve the ski and tram experience.
The new Lone Peak Tram, which will begin operating in December 2023, will offer several convenient features that will allow for greater access to the tram, including increased cabin capacity and a dedicated scenic line. Almost a quarter of last season’s tram guests took advantage of the new panoramic ride offer.
“The new tram has exceeded our expectations in every way. We promised to reevaluate the tram experience every year and this move provides flexibility and value to our product line while providing more guests access to Lone Peak,” said Troy Nedved, general manager of the resort.
Ikon, Mountain Collective and select Big Sky pass holders will continue to use Autocharge to use the tram. Tram rides will continue to be offered at a price of $10 to $40 per ride, with access to scenic landscapes always offered at a cheaper price than access to ski slopes.
Mountain Operations will continue to carefully manage the number of passengers per lift to ensure smooth operations and an optimal guest experience, whether they are skiing, skiing down from the summit or enjoying the views across three states.
Early bird prices for lift tickets are now available. Daily rates start at just $56 per day in December and April, and guests who purchase before September 10 can secure lift tickets at the lowest prices all season long.
