Eric Lichaj finally got his dog.
“My wife told me if I get a hat-trick at some point during the year I’ll get a dog, so I tried to get the penalty but (David) Vaughan politely told me – I don’t want to say what he said to me … to get lost,” Lichaj said. BT Sports after scoring two goals in the impressive 4-2 FA Cup win over Arsenal.
Soon the hashtag #GetEricADog was trending on Twitter and fans expressed their support for the Nottingham Forest hero, who is now getting his new friend.
Now it seems that Lichaj has done just that, despite falling one goal short in his quest for a hat-trick against the Gunners.
Appropriately, Lichaj named his four-legged friend Gunner.
Lichaj’s wife probably never thought she would ever have to pay for the deal. The 29-year-old had never scored two goals in an English game before Sunday and the chances of him ever scoring a hat-trick are still slim.

But thanks to the hard work of fans around the world, his wish came true.
Lichaj and Forest still have to prepare for league games against Aston Villa and Wolves before their FA Cup fourth round clash against Hull City.
