(CBS) – Detroit City FC returns to Keyworth Stadium this Saturday after a three-game road trip to face FC Tulsa. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast locally on Detroit50 (WKBD-TV). Fans in Michigan can stream the game for free on CBSDetroit.com.
DCFC comes into this game off the back of its second straight win, a 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay Rowdies. Devon Amoo-Mensah’s goal from a corner in the third minute gave Le Rouge an early lead, but after a 1-1 draw in the second half, Ben Morris scored a brace to give Le Rouge the win. The three goals would mark the first game in which Detroit scored more than one goal since their 4-0 win over Miami FC on June 29.
The win moves Detroit City up to fourth place in the Eastern Conference, two points ahead of fifth-placed Indy Eleven and three points behind third-placed Tampa Bay.
FC Tulsa comes into this game after losing 2-0 on the road to Memphis 901 FC on Saturday. Tulsa struggled to get into the attacking third and failed to register a single shot on goal in the 90 minutes. With the loss, FC Tulsa remains in ninth place in the Western Conference, tied with eighth-place Monterey Bay FC on 27 points.
After a brilliant start to the season at home, Detroit City has struggled at home and has not recorded a home win in six games. Their last victory came on June 15, a 2-0 win over Charleston Battery.
Detroit City has never taken three points against Tulsa. The last time the two faced each other was last June in Tulsa, when the home team came away with a 3-2 victory. The points were shared last May in Keyworth, the last time the two teams met in Hamtramck.
Four of DCFC’s next five games will be played on home soil at Keyworth, with the next game coming next Saturday, August 31st against Hartford Athletic. Tickets for all Detroit City games can be found at www.detcityfc.com/tickets.
