You may think that your mother would be the last person you would lie to about your age.
I mean, she was there when you were born, right?
This may be true for most mothers, but this boy’s mother cannot remember his year of birth and he used this to his advantage when he lied about his age.
Read the full story and find out why he now feels guilty about it.
This happened a year ago.
I (18 m) was at her house when her new husband told me to leave private school because he could not afford private school for his sons.
And it’s not fair that I have more options than them.
His mother’s new husband said his behavior was disrespectful.
I told him it wasn’t fair that I always had to cook for them every time they visited, when he and my mother were the adults.
He quickly turned to my mother and complained that attending an international school had “westernized” me and made me disrespectful to my elders.
Then my mother turned to me and told me to ask my father to withdraw me.
So he lied about his age and said he was already 18.
I was really angry and told her that she had no say because I was already 18.
It wasn’t me, though. I was only 17, but I knew that she often got my birth year wrong and had to correct it several times.
When I turned 18 yesterday, she realized I lied to her and said I should have just talked to her nicely instead of making a fool of her.
A mother who can’t remember when her child was born? Woof.
