The Octagon returns to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 96 event, a 12-fight schedule headlined by Jared Cannonier vs. Caio Borralho.
Cannonier (17-7 MMA) comes into the contest hoping to rebound after suffering a TKO loss to Nassourdine Imavov in his last outing at the UFC Louisville event in June. That setback ended a two-fight winning streak for “Tha Killa Gorilla,” who previously picked up victories over Marvin Vettori and Sean Strickland, respectively.
Meanwhile, Caio Borralho (16-1 MMA) will look to extend his current winning streak to sixteen in a row tonight in Las Vegas. “The Natural” was last seen in action at UFC 301 last May, where he scored a second-round knockout victory over Paul Craig (watch it here). The 31-year-old Brazilian has a 6-0 record since joining the UFC in April 2022.
Co-headlining UFC Vegas 96 is a major women’s strawweight bout pitting Angela Hill against Tabitha Ricci.
Hill (17-13 MMA) enters the contest on a two-fight winning streak, with her most recent victory being a submission win over Luana Pinheiro last May at UFC Vegas 92. “Overkill” has a combined record of 4-1 in her last five Octagon appearances.
Tabitha Ricci (10-2 MMA) was last in action at UFC St. Louis, where she earned a split decision win over Tecia Pennington. Like Hill, Ricci is 4-1 overall in her last five UFC appearances.
