Every morning at 5 a.m. I walk my dog.
He always tries to be attentive to his son.
Since my son is home alone (sleeping), I only walk up and down our own street so that I can always keep an eye on the house instead of walking through the neighborhood.
Today I was confronted by a neighbor because I pace in front of his house every night “like a psychopath.”
This man was right.
I said that I was actually walking up and down in front of my own house, but his just happened to be very close by.
He told me to stop. I said the street wasn’t his, but I would keep my dog out of his yard if that was important to him.
The situation became heated.
He said what I was doing was harassment. I rolled my eyes and said he was an idiot.
He called me a conceited whore.
That ended the conversation and any chance of a good neighborly relationship was gone.
He recognizes his mistake.
Of course I shouldn’t have called him an idiot.
The neighbor’s statement was completely absurd!
But does he have the right to dictate who passes by his house and how often?
Am I really a legitimate AH?
Why can’t this man walk peacefully down his own street?!
