LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nearly a month after bulldog Reba was killed, the community is still fighting for answers.

The dog was found tied up in a plastic tub in the extreme heat of July. Since then, a huge movement has been formed.

“We don’t stop,” said Lindsey Pinapfel, a volunteer at Vegas Pet Rescue.

Efforts to get “Justice for Reba” are still in full swing as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police search for the person responsible.

“This dog brought a community together,” Pinapfel said. “He brought the nation together.”

Reward increases to $50,000 and leads to arrest in case of death of English bulldog Reba

Thanks to local and national donors, the reward for an arrest has been increased to $50,000. Additionally, 48 digital billboards have been installed throughout the city and mobile billboards will travel up and down the Las Vegas Strip.

“It’s not just about Reba,” Pinapfel added. “It’s about animal cruelty in general.”

The Vegas Pet Rescue Project, the nonprofit that led Reba’s care, is now partnering with local radio station 98.5 to canvass voices throughout Southern Nevada.

Pinapfel told 8 News Now that they are holding four different volunteer events with 10,000 flyers donated by local businesses and are asking people to join the fight and put the flyers up everywhere.

The times and locations are planned as follows:

  • Tuesday, August 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 6030 Centennial Center Blvd, Las Vegas 89149

  • Wednesday, August 28th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 1420 Paseo Verde Pkwy, Henderson 89012

  • Thursday, August 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 1220 E Lake Mead Blvd, North Las Vegas, NV 89030

  • Friday, August 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 8594 Blue Diamond Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89178

“We’re asking people to volunteer and get a T-shirt,” Pinapfel said. “But also help us clean up the city.”

Over 100 free Justice for Reba T-shirts will be distributed. Anyone who has already purchased one is asked to wear it.

This is just the latest attempt to get answers and spread the message.

“It’s spread nationwide, but you can still go anywhere and find someone who hasn’t heard this story,” she added. “And the point is we want everyone to hear this story.”

Pinapfel said it was also important to shed light on the ongoing problem of animal cruelty.

“This is ground zero for many people,” she explained. “They didn’t know and don’t know what’s going on.”

This is all in honor of Reba, who continues to have influence even after her death.

“If I tell you,” concluded Pinapfel. “This is just the beginning.”
