In the cutthroat world of office politics, some people believe their relationships make them untouchable.

But when an employee’s bad behavior reached a critical point, a small, underhanded act of revenge set the stage for a dramatic turn of events.

If you have ever worked in an office, you will love this one.

Read on to find out the full story!

“Karen” (not her real name) was in some sort of relationship with a member of the C-suite.

This gave her the incentive to come in late, leave early, and basically do nothing in between but make our lives difficult.

It was high time to return the favor and make her life difficult.

I talked one of our suppliers into selling me some of those RFID tags that are used to catch shoplifters (the small ones that usually get missed at the checkout).

Then I dropped one into her open purse and one into her jacket pocket when no one was looking.

And since she only shopped in the trendiest stores, she was sure she would be stopped and questioned, maybe even searched!

The plan worked like clockwork.

And sure enough, the following Monday, she called her boyfriend, her lawyer, and (I think) a district manager of a clothing store chain.

It appears that she was stopped, arrested and searched. Although she had done nothing wrong and had the receipts to prove it, the experience was apparently very traumatic for her.

During lunch, someone else (I don’t know who) left a note on her C-suite boyfriend’s door. The note read, “Life is a ***** and then she goes out with you.”

Karen was a different woman after that.

After that, she started to be a bit more punctual, polite and human than before. Not rejected, of course. (It depends who you know, right?)

Rumor has it that her boyfriend knew about her behavior but did not want to intervene without good reason.

That good reason was a phone call from the fashion store’s district manager, who complained to his co-workers about Karen’s general behavior during her detention.

However, I have never confirmed this.

You can’t act important in prison!

Karen should at least behave in an exemplary manner or continue to be on her guard.

Karen’s reign of terror in the office was successfully stopped, proving that even the best-connected person can be brought to her knees.

She received a fashionable reminder to proceed with caution.
