Capix Ltd has expanded its product offering for consumer photography, launching two new KEKS light meters to the UK market. The KEKS KM02 and KM-Q OLED light meters are specifically designed for film photographers looking to modernise their classic cameras with advanced metering capabilities. Announced at The Photography Show, these new products reflect Capix’s commitment to supporting the growing community of analogue photography enthusiasts.
The flagship KEKS KM02 OLED light meter and the ultra-compact KM-Q OLED light meter are now available from Capix and its partners, priced at £139 and £119 respectively. Both models are designed to be used on the hot shoe or cold shoe of any camera, and offer a stylish and lightweight solution for photographers using old film cameras that do not have built-in light metering or whose light meters do not work properly.
KEKS KM02 OLED light meter: flexibility and control
The KM02 is the more advanced of the two models, offering a range of customizable options for aperture, shutter speed and ISO levels. It features an exposure compensation function that can manually adjust exposure from -3EV to +3EV in 1/3-stop increments, giving photographers precise control over their lighting settings. Additionally, the KM02 can save presets for up to three different cameras and lenses, making it ideal for photographers who regularly switch between different setups.
Housed in a robust yet compact aluminum body, the KM02 can withstand the rigors of frequent use. It features a 21-hour battery life, continuous and single metering modes, and a high-precision VEML7700 ambient light sensor with 16-bit digital resolution. This ensures accurate and reliable light measurements in various shooting environments, helping photographers achieve consistent results regardless of subject or location.
KEKS KM-Q OLED light meter: compact and portable
Designed for ultimate portability, the KM-Q weighs just 18.5g and is about the size of a sugar cube. Despite its small size, it delivers impressive performance and features the same high-precision VEML7700 ambient light sensor as the KM02. The KM-Q offers up to 20 hours of continuous use on a single charge, making it a practical choice for photographers who need a reliable, portable light meter.
The KM-Q is available in two display modes, with a choice of top or rear display, allowing photographers to choose the orientation that best suits their shooting style. The compact design and lightweight build make it easy to transport and ensure photographers always have a reliable light meter on hand, no matter where their work takes them.
Commenting on the new products, Brian Peters, owner of Capix, said: “The KEKS light meters bring the convenience and control of modern light metering technology to the popular art of film photography. More and more photographers are rediscovering the joy of shooting with film and we are delighted to be able to offer these beautifully designed, high quality products to support them in their creative journeys.”
Both the KM02 and KM-Q are available now through Capix’s UK distribution network. For more information or to purchase, contact Capix or call 01480 472 233.
