BELLEVUE, Nebraska (WOWT) – Employees at Apollo Heating and Air spent Friday looking up to the skies, getting a little taste of what’s to come before the air show returns.

“We already have a lot of air traffic through the area. But over the last few days, traffic has increased, as you can hear above me now,” said Dylan Lieberth, general manager.

About a mile away, Jax Whetstone, Ann Shamblen and their customer Michael sat outside their store to take a look.

“I really like the whole feeling. This passion grabs me,” says Whetstone, co-owner of 2 Gals and a Shop.

Shamblin’s son was just a baby at the last air show, and she’s excited to show him what she enjoyed as a child.

“My son is six and he’s excited to see the Jets,” Shamblen told 6 News.

And what matters even more: you can see the love for the country in all its fullness.

“Kudos to the military families and for being able to showcase what they do. And the brave men and women who choose to fly these aircraft and put on this show are truly incredible,” Lieberth said.

“The pride when you see that formation. How anyone can not be proud to be an American at that moment is a mystery to me,” Whetstone said.

The air show will take place on August 24 and 25 at Offutt Air Force Base.
