WICHITA, Kansas (KSNW) – More pilots flew to McConnell Air Force Base on Friday for this weekend’s Frontiers in Flight air show.
If you’re heading to McConnell, please note that the event is held daily on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 5pm. Also, expect long walks and delays at security.
To beat the heat, you are allowed to bring a water bottle (no glass bottles allowed). Outside food is not permitted. Click here to learn more about what the Air Show is doing to combat the heat this weekend.
You will also need hearing protection. Bags are allowed and do not have to be clear, but they must be less than one cubic foot in size.

Larger items such as folding or camping chairs as well as strollers, handcarts or diaper bags for the little ones are allowed, but no walking sticks, drones or weapons.
Many people look forward to seeing the Blue Angels (which take off at 3 p.m. both days), but there are many other aircraft flying in as well. One of them is a Fairchild PT-19, a World War II plane owned by Vietnam veteran Wayne Bormann.
“Aviation has been my life since I was 14,” said Bormann. “I started flying. I got my pilot’s license when I was 17 and I’ve done that my whole life. I was either turning screws or flying airplanes.”
In addition to the Blue Angels and the aforementioned PT-19, the Budweiser Clydesdale horses will also be there, as well as many other aircraft and fun activities for the whole family.
