Next Monday is National Dog Day. It’s a day to give your furry friend a little extra love. So if you’re looking to have some fun with your pup, we know of a few fun events happening in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. From ball pit fun on the floor to splash pools on the roof, now is the time for Paw-Ty!

Vanessa De Las Casas, owner of The Woof Republic: “International Dog Day is meant to be a day to really appreciate your dog, a friend’s dog, your parent’s dog, or the dog you see on the street. It’s just a day for them.”
Downtown Dog Days is happening Sunday at the Worldcenter in Miami. This outdoor event features PETCHEFY and The Woof Republic teaming up to host a dog party.
Jeff Christian, co-founder of PETCHEFY: “We believe in community. We believe in the dog community here in Miami. There’s really nothing like it for dog owners, which is exciting for us. The local businesses that offer dog treats and other dog products will all be there.”
Your best partner in crime can spend a whole day snooping around free activities.
Vanessa De Las Casas: “We are so excited because at Downtown Dog Days we will be offering lots of dog activities like dog canvas paintings and even a backdrop where you can take a photo with your pet. If you don’t have any pets and are thinking about getting one, you can meet more than just some of them there.”
Dog guest (voice of): “Spoil me. I’ll hit you.”
At the Kimpton Shorebreak Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, the pups will be bombarded with love at a dog party on Monday.
Frank Netzel, general manager of the Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort: “Kimpton hotels are extremely dog-friendly. We invite all furry friends here and want to take full advantage of the day to host a fiesta for the dogs. We want them to come here and celebrate together.”
This furry fiesta takes place in wooftop Lounge, escape.
And for human guests, they serve special cocktails during Yappy Hour.
Frank Netzel: “As you can see, we have one of the best views, not only in Fort Lauderdale, but in all of Broward. We’re going to have a pop-up cooling station, a little pop-up table for the Green Paws store. They’re going to give out some free samples and for the first 40 furry friends that come through, we’ll have little gift bags.
Johanna Berumen: “She’s just finding out what water is like. I think she’s very interested. She loves it. It’s a great place to bring your puppy and meet all the other little puppies and it’s just a really wonderful place for her.”
Downtown Dog Days are Sundays from 11am-4pm and Shorebreak’s Yappy Hour starts Mondays at 6pm.
