Asteri offers a comprehensive range of cosmetics and makeup accessories. The beauty products are vegan and cruelty-free and do not contain potentially harmful ingredients such as microplastics, talc, parabens and sulfates. The items are also touted as “desert-proof” and are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions that can range from intense dry heat to excessive humidity.
The four Asteri stores, which Dalziel & Pow describes as “branded houses,” can be found across Saudi Arabia. Each has a unique design that references local culture, heritage and geography while representing the diversity of women. In addition to Asteri’s full range of products, the stores offer group and one-on-one consultations, as well as a “stargazer” lounge with an iconic light installation.
“Asteri Beauty invests in branded homes designed for sisterhood – reflecting the changing role of brick-and-mortar retail as a place to connect with a sophisticated, playful and aesthetically discerning audience,” explains Dalziel & Pow. “Asteri-branded homes are a place to meet likeminded individuals, learn from each other, enjoy social shopping without pressure and celebrate local heritage and stories, all while reflecting a new face of Saudi beauty.”
Below you will find some highlights from the four locations.
- Riyadh, Nakheel Mall The brand’s first permanent location is located in its home city and is designed to reflect the eclectic brand expression and product range, with a selection of mix-and-match materials, colors and textures. The open, sociable design is intended to encourage interaction and conversation.
- Jeddah, The Red Sea Mall Jeddah has a smaller footprint but a big presence. Passers-by are drawn to the expressive branded façade and open communal gaming table. Jeddah is a Saudi Arabian port city on the Red Sea and the store reflects the location and vitality of the sea. D&P designed the bespoke electric blue central element along with an undulating metallic façade that reflects the ebb and flow of the sea.
- Dhahran, The Shopping Center of Dhahran Hanging pearlescent fairy lights – inspired by the famous Arabian pearls of the Gulf – draw customers in and cast a soft glow on the undulating accent wall. Unapologetically feminine and daring, this space is curvaceous and strong, we find it.
- Abha, Al Rashid Shopping Center A bespoke light installation references the iconic Green Mountain and the city’s unique topography, alongside a subtle horizon line that traces the perimeter of the space, paying tribute to the local tradition of women decorating their homes with a distinct colourful line. Clients can gather around the purple Jesmonite tables and explore the surroundings, a vibrant colour inspired by the local Jacaranda flowers.
