The launch of the adidas Dame 9 will be a little different than most typical basketball shoes. Actually, most shoes in general. Instead of general release options, the next Damian Lillard shoe will initially release as part of a BAPE collaboration on August 31st, with two colorways on the way to mark the occasion.
This isn’t the first time BAPE has revamped Dame’s signature shoes; the adidas Dame 4 was once given a camouflage print and shark tooth graphics, but only after the model had already been out for a few months. In any case, combining basketball performance specs with iconic streetwear insignias is a surefire way to draw attention to Dame’s latest signature shoes as soon as they drop.
Two colorways are scheduled for release on August 31st, both of which – unsurprisingly – put BAPE’s trademarks on full display. One strikes a familiar tone with olive camouflage, while the other opts for a similar but more conservative mix of red camouflage. Both pairs feature black midsoles and inner lining, and of course, gold Adidas and BAPE branding can be seen on the tongue and heel respectively. There’s also a red, white and blue “Olympic” Dame 9, but that pair is reportedly for friends and family only.
Pricing information has not been released at the time of writing, but those interested can expect an MSRP slightly above the standard $120 USD price tag. Check out official images of both options below, and tap our sneaker release dates page to browse more upcoming deliveries of the Three Stripes.
