NFL All-Pro George Kittle’s love for sneakers is no secret.
The 30-year-old recently gained notoriety after he hilariously attacked San Francisco 49ers sports reporters for their shoe game during a press conference.
Kittle told reporters that they watch him practice and he does the same to them, keeping a watchful eye on their sneakers.
He called their selection “absolutely awful” and added that he thought they needed to improve their “sneaker game.”
“I’m disappointed in you as a community,” Kittle commented brutally, before telling them, “Let’s figure this out together.”
When he spoke to Kay Adams on her FanDuel TV show “Up And Adams” about the lecture, the star tight end explained that he has “higher standards” for his “reporters.”
He expressed his disappointment to reporters after seeing her “sitting there in dirty, white, four-year-old shoes.”
However, Kittle made it clear that he wasn’t saying that he thought they should spend a lot of money on a pair of “Chunky Dunks.”
According to StockX, the shoes in question are the Nike SB Dunk Low Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Dunky, which were released in 2020.
Modeled after the Ben & Jerry’s logo, they feature a cowhide pattern, rolling green hills and a bright blue sky on the sides, and a bright yellow dripping Nike swoosh.

Originally selling for $100 a pair, in August they were selling for as much as $3,121 on StockX.
Kittle went on to note that he wasn’t asking reporters to “spend $5,000 on a pair of shoes,” but rather to shell out maybe $80 to $100 for a nice pair of New Balances.
During the conversation, however, Adams admitted that she had “never heard of a Chunky Dunk in her entire life.”
She even said that she is simply “not a sneaker person,” but rather a “stilt person, so that I don’t look embarrassingly small next to people like you.”
This admission left Kittle speechless. She stared speechlessly into the camera and then said: “We’ll work on it.”
Returning to his exchange with local reporters, Adams asked Kittle, “Why don’t you buy them all shoes?”

But it seems she accidentally spoiled an upcoming surprise here, because Kittle replied, “Are you going to tell me all my surprises?”
When asked if this was planned, Kittle just shrugged his shoulders.
In an interview with the 49ers, the five-time Pro Bowler gave his fans a behind-the-scenes look at his massive sneaker collection in 2023.
Kittle, a self-proclaimed “sneakerhead,” explained that his collection is relatively new and he only really became interested in it in 2019.
Kittle admitted he wasn’t sure exactly how many pairs he owned, but said there were enough to fill three walls from floor to ceiling.
