GRAND COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – Several gray wolf cubs were caught on camera in Colorado after the species was reintroduced to the state in December and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) confirmed that at least one cub was born in the state earlier this year.

The video, shot by Michael Usalavage, shows three wolf cubs from the Copper Creek pack and an adult wolf.

According to Usalavage, the puppies were playing with their mother in the area.

CPW shared the video on its social media pages on Monday and said it had been reviewed and confirmed.

The exact location where the video was taken was not disclosed, but according to previous reports, the previously confirmed pup was first spotted in Grand County in June. No other pups were confirmed until Monday, when the video was posted.

“It is important to remember that if you live or recreate in the Colorado foothills or mountains, you are in wolf territory,” CPW shared alongside the video of the pups. “Wolves are wild animals and should be treated with the same respect as any other wild animal.”

A map showing the activity of collared wolves in Colorado can be found here. Anyone who has spotted wolves in Colorado is asked to fill out the CPW Wolf Sighting Form.
