Hurricane Beryl has caused devastating damage to several islands in the Caribbean, particularly devastating several destinations in the southern Caribbean.

Now the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, together with the CHTA Education Foundation, has launched an initiative to support Caribbean hotel and restaurant workers affected by the storm.

The Hurricane Relief Auction will raffle off hotel stays in Caribbean destinations including Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Turks and Caicos Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“In times of crisis, the spirit of solidarity and support can make a huge difference. This auction not only provides vital assistance to those affected, but also reminds us of the global community’s ability to come together for a common cause,” said Vanessa Ledesma, Acting CEO and Director General of CHTA.

Beryl made landfall in early July, causing significant damage in the Grenadines and on the south coast of Jamaica.

“As we mobilize support with this auction, let us remember that every bid not only contributes to reconstruction, but also brings hope to those worst affected by the hurricane,” said Karolin Troubetzkoy, Chair of CHTAEF.
