One of Phoenix’s first luxury resorts has been named one of the top 10 vacation resorts in the United States
USA TODAY 10Best has released its lists of the country’s best hotels and resorts as part of its 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards, and Arizona Biltmore, the historic resort distinguished by its Frank Lloyd Wright-style architecture, made the cut.
The Biltmore opened in 1929 and became a popular stop for U.S. presidents visiting Arizona, from Herbert Hoover to George W. Bush. It is considered the birthplace of the Tequila Sunrise.
The Biltmore was purchased earlier this year for $705 million by English real estate firm Henderson Park. With the purchase, the Biltmore was rebranded from a Waldorf Astoria hotel to an LXR hotel; both are brands of Hilton Hotels & Resorts that represent the hotel giant’s highest standard of luxury.

Why Arizona Biltmore is one of the 10 best resorts
Arizona Biltmore was ranked the No. 10 vacation resort in the 10Best survey. The honored hotels and resorts were selected by 10Best editors based on nominations from travel industry experts, and USA TODAY readers voted for their favorites based on the nominations.
What readers loved most about the Biltmore was the variety of amenities and accommodations. According to 10Best, this allows guests to “find everything they want without ever leaving the property.” Amenities include seven swimming pools, two golf courses, six on-site restaurants including Renata’s Hearth and McArthur’s, and the Tierra Luna Spa.
