The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has released its manatee and sea turtle stickers for 2024-2025. These colorfully illustrated stickers can be placed on watercraft and vehicle bumpers and look equally great on water bottles, coolers, fishing boxes and laptops.
New, waterproof stickers with original artwork are released each July and are available for a $5 donation at your local tax office. Sticker donations go directly to funding manatee and sea turtle research, rescue and management.
This year’s stickers emphasize the importance of protecting Florida’s waterways and beaches for manatees and sea turtles:
- Protect Your Waters, Protect Their Homes reminds us that manatees are found throughout Florida’s waters, including rivers, bays, canals and coastal areas. Keeping an eye on trash and keeping Florida’s waters clean can help prevent manatees from ingesting and becoming entangled in marine trash and waste.
- “A Generation of Conservation Yields Record Results” highlights Florida’s sea turtle conservation efforts, which resulted in a record number of loggerhead and green sea turtle nests in 2023. Everyday actions such as keeping beaches clean and clear of trash, removing recreational equipment at the end of beach visits, and darkening beaches at night can protect nesting sea turtles and hatchlings from life-threatening situations.
This year’s stickers also list the FWC’s Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922), where you can report dead, injured, entangled or sick manatees or sea turtles.
You can also help protect manatees and sea turtles by purchasing a special license plate from your local tax office that says “Save the Manatees” or “Help Sea Turtles Survive.”
