Guess what time it is, Vegas Golden Knights fans? It’s time to talk hitting! Let’s let Lil’ Jon take the ball and get it rolling!

YES! Now we can talk about shots and who the Golden Knights’ best player of all time is. Before we get to that, let’s stress the importance of getting the puck on goal.

You can’t win a hockey game without scoring goals. How do you score goals? You do it by firing a shot (YES) at the goal. Often it’s the forward who does the dirty work, although defensemen are known for shooting the puck. The more shots a team fires at the goal, the better their chances of scoring goals. This seems like an obvious assumption, but it rings true nonetheless.

So who is the franchise leader in this illustrious category? Is it Jonathan Marchessault, who claims other records (including this one) as a Golden Knight? Maybe it’s captain Mark Stone and his penchant for offense. Maybe it’s Max Pacioretty? Either way, it’s time to celebrate Golden Knights style while we get some shots off. Here’s the all-time leader for Vegas in shots.

At this point, it shouldn’t shock anyone. Jonathan Marchessault has the most shots of all time for the Vegas Golden Knights with 1,708. In fact, no one else comes close to the “Original Misfit.” In second place is Shea Theodore with 1,172, the most for a defenseman. He is followed by fellow “Misfit” William Karlsson with 1,073.

Reilly Smith took fourth place with 963, followed by Max Pacioretty with 820. The last place finishers are Alex Pietrangelo (sixth with 664), Jack Eichel (seventh with 634) and Mark Stone (eighth with 621). William Carrier, who is in ninth place with 604 shots, and Alex Tuch complete the top ten. The current Buffalo Sabre is the tenth best player in this category with 591.

But who has the most pucks in a single season? That would be Pacioretty, who fired 307 pucks in 2019-20. Marchessault and Eichel share second place with 278, with the “Misfit” doing that in 2018-19 and the Massachusetts native in 2023-24. Curiously, Marchessault ranks fourth (268 in 2017-18), fifth (266 in 2023-24), sixth (251 in 2021-22), seventh (235 in 2019-20) and eighth (234 in 2022-23) on the list. No wonder he leads the category by a wide margin. Lil’ Jon must have loved hanging out with the winger.
