2024 primary results: St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids voters to choose candidates for city council and mayor in November

(KNSI) – The results are in and voters now know who will be on the final ballots for City Council and Mayor of St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids.

Mayor of St. Cloud – The two candidates with the most votes will face each other in November.

Member of the City Council without special powers – The six highest voting scores participate in the general election and are entitled to election to three open seats.

There were three candidates for mayor of Sauk Rapids, and Jason Ellering will face Nicholas Sauer in November. Ellering won with 48.73% to Sauer’s 44.26%. The third candidate, Andrew Neussendorfer, received 7.01%.

In Congress, incumbent Representative Tom Emmer (R-CD06) won with 87.05% of the vote against Republican challenger Chris Corey’s 12.95%. Emmer will face Democrat Jeanne Hendricks in November, who won with 83.81% of the vote against Austin D. Winkleman’s 16.19%.

In the 7th District, Republican Michelle Fischbach successfully defended her seat against challenger Steve Boyd, receiving 64.65% of the vote to 35.35%. Boyd forced a tie at the Republican National Convention earlier this year, preventing Fischbach from receiving the party’s endorsement. Fischbach will face Democrat AJ (John) Peters in November.
