End of last year Sunday take back surprise us with a new album in 152the Long Island emo survivors are eighth overall and first in seven years. Now the guys have spent much of the spring and summer showing off their stuff across the country, and their two-leg, 37-date North American tour, featuring Citizen, begins its final leg with a performance at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway tonight (August 14).
The current setlists look pretty solid, and no one needs to convince us that listening to a few new jams alongside emo classics like “Cute Without the ‘E’ (Cut From the Team)”, “You’re So Last Summer”, and “MakeDamnSure” isn’t the right way to spend a weekday summer evening.
But more importantly, how is the band doing these days?
“Man, I’m just taking it all in,” Taking Back Sunday said in a press release. “We’ve been in a whirlwind of finishing the album, getting everything ready for the release, making all the plans. Now comes our other favorite part, visiting so many cities in North America and playing live. The set will be a good mix of albums and the reception for 152 has been so positive that we can’t wait to get out there and play some of these songs for the first time in these cities and make magic all summer long. Citizen has a great new record out too, so we’re going to have a lot of fun together. I can’t wait.”
Same goes for you folks. Check out our reviews of Taking Back Sunday’s shows here in town in 2019 and 2018 and tune in to 152 below.
