After Donald Trump’s chaotic X-interview with Elon Musk, there are always Daily Show Moderator Desi Lydic has many questions for the former president. The most important of these is: Is Trump keen on his new opponent Kamala Harris?
She played the audio recording of Trump talking about Harris’ recent photo on the cover of TIME magazine, In it he said: “She looks like the most beautiful actress who ever lived. It was a drawing. And in fact she looked very much like a great First Lady, Melania. But of course she is a beautiful woman. So let’s leave it at that.”
“Oh, someone has a crush,” Lydic replied.
“Where did this come from?” she asked. “Did he have a sex dream with Kamala that he just can’t get rid of and now everything feels different?”
She speculated jokingly: “He can’t concentrate on anything. He just TIME Magazine seeks centerfold.”
Lydic found the revelation positive: “I think we’ve finally found out the one thing Trump can’t lie about. If he thinks someone is hot, he says they’re hot. He lies about winning an election, but he has great respect for the sanctity of sex appeal. That’s noble.”
Earlier in her monologue on Tuesday, Lydic commented on Trump’s obvious lisp and slurred pronunciation throughout the interview, saying, “What’s going on in his mouth? I know the guy insults a lot, but this is a whole new level.”
She also responded to claims by some right-wing pundits that the interview’s many problems – from the 40-minute delay to Trump’s obvious language problems – were the result of “deep state” interference.
“If there is a deep state trying to silence Donald Trump, you’re bad at your job, OK?” Lydic said. “Because he is the opposite of silence. There is no one right now who is not as silent as Donald Trump.”
Lydic turned to the camera and said, “Hey, Deep State, look at me. Look at me. Do better.”
