Nike has always been a leading brand when it comes to the best golf shoes on the market. The company offers a wide range of quality options in the affordable, mid-range and high-end golf shoe categories, and the Infinity G shoe is undoubtedly one of the best in this category – especially in the realm of best golf shoes under $100.
After several months of testing in all weather conditions – helped by the British summer – and many rounds of golf with room for improvement, we have gained a comprehensive picture of the Nike Infinity G and formed a comprehensive opinion about it.
While the Nike Infinity G golf shoes are one of my absolute favorites for a number of reasons that I’ll try to explain shortly, the only minor downside is that I think they could be improved aesthetically. The black version (white is also available) is made from recycled plastic that clearly lacks the outstanding quality of premium leather and doesn’t make it easy to choose between elegant simplicity and bold eccentricity. However, aesthetics are also subjective, so many people will like the look of these sneakers, and the affordable price makes them much more appealing too.
Aside from being hardly a concern for those considering a purchase, the list of positives about the Nike Infinity G is impressive. First off, the sheer comfort of these golf shoes was incredible right out of the box. Having previously tested another pair of Nike shoes, this was not something I took for granted, so I was delighted to lace up the shoes, which almost immediately felt like slippers.
Not only did the construction of the running shoe really contribute to comfort, the sole also ensured that neither my feet nor my lower legs ever hurt in the slightest, no matter how hard the surface I was walking on.
When it comes to breathability, the Nike Infinity G shoes far exceeded my expectations. With other shoes, my feet would be drenched in sweat at the end of another tough 18 holes as I walked around the course and found another errant drive. But not with these shoes. Of course, the drives still lacked precision, but the Nike Infinity G held up very well throughout on warmer days.
Additionally, my feet were almost completely dry during the few rounds where it was raining or had previously rained, making them a legitimate choice among the best waterproof golf shoes.
In terms of grip, these spikeless golf shoes passed with flying colors on a dry day, as expected. Since the sole is ergonomically efficient and mostly at a fairly even level, you never feel like your posture is being compromised.
And when I took them off in wet and windy weather, I was happy to report that they gave me more than enough control over the ground and never slipped or slid when I tried to step into a long shot. And when you’re done playing golf, removing the grass from between the rubber sole requires very little effort.
Overall, I highly recommend the Nike Infinity G golf shoes. The comfort and functionality are some of the best options on the market and the slight aesthetic drawback probably won’t stop me from buying a pair in the future. Speaking of price, you can get a pair for under $100, meaning many golfers should consider these as their next golf shoe option.
